Linux Lite: a simple and fast Linux distro

Linux Lite is a Linux distro based on Ubuntu LTS and it’s slogan is “Simple Fast Free”.
It’s a free operating system with the aim the transition from Windows to Linux as smooth as possible.

The distribution provides familiar software such as Skype, Steam, Kodi and Spotify, a free Office suite, a familiar desktop environment with a user friendly interface.

Note: Linux Lite isn’t the only lightweight Linux distro, you can also try Bodhi Linux.

Linux Lite is fully functional out of the box, you won’t have to install extra software when you boot your computer for the first time.
There is also a comprehensive online help that covers all topics: installation, network, software, hardware, tutorials, customization.

Recommended System Requirements: 1.5GHz processor, 1gb RAM, 20gb storage, VGA, DVI or HDMI screen 1366×768, DVD drive or USB port for the ISO image.

We have tested Linux Lite 4.4 64 bit on VirtualBox 6 using the image from OSBoxes.org web site.

The desktop is clean and simple. With easy access to the Menu, system settings and configuration.

After booting a starting page will be displayed with some useful shortcuts that allows you to Install Updates, Install Drivers, Set a Restore Point, Install Language Support, Upgrade to 4.4 version (if you have a previous version installed), Install Lite Software.

The menu is well done. From here you can access to file system, Settings, Applications installed (Accessories, Graphics, Internet, Multimedia, Office), and the various System tools.

Thanks to its intuitive interface and to the various applications preinstalled Linux Lite is a fast operating system suitable for who wants enter in the Linux world without pain.
