Remote gaming streaming softwares

Are you a gamer and you would like to play your favourites titles even if you aren’t phisically in the room where you have the PC with your games?

There are softwares that allows the “streaming” of videogames in other devices like other computers or mobile devices even if you are miles away from the PC where you installed the games.

Obviously you must have a fast and stable internet connection to avoid lags during gaming.

Below a list of softwares that allows the remote streaming of videogames.

Moonlight

Moonlight is an open source software availble for Windows, MacOS, Linux and other operating systems, Android and iOS included.

You can stream games compatibles with NVIDIA GameStream protocol.

It support the streaming with a resoultion of over 4K and over 120 FPS.

Many client platforms are supported: if you have an Android, iOS, Apple TV, PC or Mac, Chromebook, PS Vita, Wii U, Raspberry Pi or even LG TV with webOS device you can use Moonlight for the streaming.

The software is completely free, no ads, bundled services, paid versions with extra features, or subscriptions.

Parsec

Parsec is a multiplatform software available for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS with social features (there is a chat and seamless integrated with Discord).

You can share the screen with your friends (just share a link, connect a controller and play).

The free version for personal use includes only Core features (low latency, 60 FPS desktop capture, single link desktop sharing, keyboard, mouse, and gamepad support, encrypted peer-to-peer connections, josting available for Windows 10+ and macOS 10.15+).

Parsec has a nice and attractive UI and it’s particularly recommended for multiplayer games.

Steam Remote Play

Steam Remote Play is the solution from Steam to remotely play on smartphone, tablet, on VR, on TV or another PC.

The setup is very simple, you just need to install Steam Link from your favourite app store and use it to connect your device to a computer where is installed Steam.

Steam Link is available for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, Android, Raspberry, Windows, Linux, macOS, Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro.

Many Steam games are already optimized for your devices (click on Find games button to see all compatible games).

Remotly

Remotly is in general a remote access software but it has the feature to remotely play on PC.

There is a free version that includes 1 remote session, secure connection, unlimited P2P transfers, 4GB cloud transfers, audio chat, 4K P2P streaming.

Actually it’s available for Windows and Android.
