Magento it’s an opensource CMS (content management system) written in PHP and working with MySQL database running on Apache web server becoming widely used for ecommerce site solution.
To seriously use it a pro hosting (dedicated/virtual server) is highly recommanded, but if you want just try it matching needed requirements you can do it freely with a local installation with server components installed and properly setup or with some free hosting web sites like Netsons, IlBello, x10hosting with my preference for ilbello.com as it’s clearly written it’s for Magento.
