Adblockers offers a basic good protection but to be more efficient it’s recommended to use additional filters that are maintained by volunteers during their spare time.
It’s important to choose filters lists that are regularly updated and use the ones you need for your purposes, eg. there are filters lists for privacy, to block ads, malware, crypto miners, porn sites, gambling, etc…

AdGuard is available as Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS app and as an extension for many browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera, Yandex).

uBlock Origin is an open source extension for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera.
AdAway is an open source app for Android.
DNS66 is an open source app for Android.
personalDNSfilter is a proxy filter written in Java. It’s compiled as an app for Android but includes also Windows and Linux versions.
