Especialli for who works with graphic if you buy a new monitor it’s important to calibrate it to generate right color profiles (files ICC) with some hardware tools (colorimeter) and specific software.

Who don’t own these tools on internet there are public availble profile colors ready to use.
Let see where to download them and how to use with the various operating systems.

Adobe ICC profiles for Windows and Mac and Linux. For all the 3 platforms they are available separate downloads for end users and bundlers.

ColorManagement here you can find many and updated color profiles, moreover there are various useful tif images to use to test colors.

TFT Central here you can find a table where listed various monitor brands and models, for them you can download related color profiles.

Digital Versus another wide database classified per brand.

Once downloaded you can load in your operationg system. There is different procedure if is Windows, Mac or Linux. On TFT Central and Digital Versus you can find the istructions. If you don’t know on Windows 7 there is a basic monitor calibration tool on control panel.

If you don’t find specific color profiles you can try to use “generic” ones and make some tests to see who matchs better and accurate colors for your monitor.

Recently i was noticed of an interesting web service called TeamLab.
It’s a set of tools to manage online projects.

After a fast free registration you can access to your portal (http://nameyouchoose.teamlab.com) with a panel like the screenshot.

You can:

- import contacts: from web (Google, Yahoo, Windows Live), from file (CSV) or manually

- edit your own profile

- set various portal options (language, graphic and design customization, enable/disable products and modules, backup/deactivate/delete account, statistics and payments for premium features)

- there is a wide community section composed of multi tabs: a general dashboard with various areas (new employees, bookmarks, events, birthdays, polls, what’s new and wiki), in the other tabs there are also blogs, forums and photos

- in the documents section you can create new files (documents, spreadsheet, presentation), mnake uploads and downloads, create folders and set permissions, naturally you can benefit of the sharing feature. There are also interesting tools that allows to import from Google Docs, Zoho and Box.net

- in the project section you can create new projects, manage your team, plan milestones, assign tasks, start discussions and upload files, generate reports

- there is also a web client that works as instant messenger that allows to talk with other collegues, there is an interesting option that allows to integrate it with third party IMs that supports Jabber/XMPP protocol

So i can say TeamLab is a nice and fully featured tool/service for office productivity that takes advantage of the cloud and suitable both for personal and working group use. Soon you can also benefit of other interesting tools like calendar, CRM and email!

Time ago i reviewed here on Simo blog the very good OSForensics program for Windows in beta version.

With this software you can discover relevant forensic data faster, identify suspicious files and activity, organize information and create reports about collected forensic data.
